Fountain pens

Handwriting got worse when we stopped caring what we wrote with. I’m trying to undo that, one bottle of ink at a time.

01 Why

A fountain pen asks you to slow down by about ten per cent, and in that ten per cent the sentences get better. Or at least they look better.

02 What I look for

A nib with a little give, a cap that posts without wobbling, and a body I can fill from a bottle instead of throwing away.

03 What I’ve learned

Ink is the real rabbit hole. You only need one pen, but there are always more inks.
